Dr. Russ Stubbles, SDSU Horticulture, Forestry, Landscape and Parks Dept. celebrated St. Patricks day in the afternoon breakout sessions.

Governor Mike Rounds was the noon guest speaker. The governor talked on the standards and crteria that must be met for theSD Certified Beef Program.

Larry Swain operates Swain & Associates, a strategic planning consulting firm that specializes in value-added agriculture for small family farms.

Nick Vande Weerd of Bruce, SD and Cullen Wilson of Jamestown, ND won first prize in the Value Added Paper Contest sponsored by the Value Added Center.

Second place prize went to Agnie Carter of Jackson, MN.
